Passlogix Signs On To Resell HID Crescendo Cards, Simplifying Product Sourcing For ESSO Customers

Expands Passlogix's Strong Authentication & Physical/Logical Convergence Capabilities

April 8, 2008 — San Francisco, CA; Passlogix®, Inc., announced today that it has added HID Global’s Crescendo™ combined physical and logical access control cards and OMNIKEY card readers to the third-party strong authentication devices it resells to customers of its v-GO® Sign-On Platform™, the market’s leading solution suite for enterprise single sign-on. The agreement will simplify product sourcing for v-GO users who want to deploy Crescendo cards as part of their access control program.

The decision to join HID’s new Global IT Channel Program builds on Passlogix’s existing strong authentication services, including separate v-GO modules that extend single sign-on to any form of strong authentication and that manage any mix of authentication devices from any vendor. Passlogix also recently established a dedicated team that offers strong authentication consulting services.

In addition, the reseller agreement with HID will assist Passlogix in providing physical/logical convergence services based on Crescendo’s native support for both physical access (via contactless technology) and logical access (via contact smart chip). Organizations that deploy Crescendo to equip employees with secure one-card access to their building and computer systems can also use the same card to access enterprise applications with v-GO’s single sign-on capabilities.

“HID’s Crescendo platform enables enterprises to consolidate facility access and computer login on a single badge. When used with v-GO for single sign-on, it also eliminates the need to remember multiple application passwords while also ensuring secure application access,” said Stephane Fymat, Passlogix vice president of strategy and product management. “It frees employees of the need to carry different cards or tokens for different functions, and that makes it an attractive option for organizations that are considering strong authentication deployments.”

“Our goal in making Crescendo available for sale through third-party vendors is to encourage the development of integrated access solutions that will provide security for enterprises as well as convenience for end users,” said Mark Scaparro, vice president of Market Strategy, Access and Identity, HID Global. “Passlogix will be a strong channel partner because of their traction in the single sign-on space, their commitment to two-factor authentication and their experience in joint deployments of the two technologies.”

Crescendo is a multi-technology smart card designed to act as an employee identification badge while providing out-of-the-box, standards-compliant support for thousands of logical access applications and physical access control systems. A credit card-sized card enables logical access control with built-in support for a variety of physical access control technologies including HID or Indala® proximity, iCLASS®, MIFARE® and others. Crescendo also supports Microsoft® Identity Lifecycle Manager 2007 and includes the option to utilize the Microsoft minidriver, ensuring a seamless user experience.

The v-GO Sign-On Platform is built around v-GO SSO (v-GO Single Sign-On), which automatically and securely signs users into enterprise applications after a single network logon without the need to remember and manage multiple users IDs and passwords. The suite also includes the market’s first on-demand ESSO client and six complementary modules, including the first ESSO-based solution for shared account access and the first tool for managing disparate strong authentication devices.

The v-GO suite has sold more than 10 million licenses, earned top rankings from industry analysts, and been widely acclaimed for its broad functionality, rapid wizard-based deployment, low total cost of ownership, and scalability that supports the largest ESSO implementations in the world.
