UNC Health Care's Tom Cleveland to Speak at HIMSS
Passlogix Customer Will Discuss ESSO Deployment with Two-Factor Authentication
February 1, 2007 — New York, NY; Tom Cleveland, information technology security analyst for University of North Carolina Health Care System, will be speaking at the HIMSS 2007 conference that opens February 25th in New Orleans, Louisiana, about the benefits of deploying enterprise single sign-on (ESSO) technology in conjunction with strong authentication. His presentation is titled “Case Study: Leveraging a sign-on platform to advance identity management and information access in health care.”
UNC Health Care recently implemented the Passlogix v-GO Sign-on Platform as the first step in a broader identity management initiative designed to balance the need to comply with federal security requirements with the clinical demands of providing broad and immediate access to patient information. The UNC system, which includes four hospitals and over 1,500 UNC-Chapel Hill faculty physicians and physicians in training, is currently testing various forms of strong authentication and plans to use v-GO’s capabilities to extend single sign-on to the devices selected.
Cleveland’s presentation is scheduled for Wednesday, February 28, 2007, 12:15 PM - 1:00 PM. More information is available at http://www.himss07.org/exhibition/PavilionSessions.aspx
