Passlogix's v-GO Receives 5 Stars in SC Magazine's Group Test; Only ID Management Product to Earn"Recomended" Rating
Feb 19, 2009 — New York, NY;
Passlogix®, Inc., announced today that its v-GO® Access Accelerator Suite, an integrated set of single sign-on, authentication and provisioning solutions that includes the market’s leading enterprise single sign-on (ESSO) platform, has received a “recommended” five-star rating in SC Magazine’s latest group test of identity management products. The review was published in the publication’s February 1 edition.
v-GO earned five stars from the magazine’s editors for features, performance, documentation, support and overall rating. It was the only one of the five ID management products reviewed to earn a "recommended” rating. Editors noted that v-GO provides “real benefits” and “a lot of functionality in one suite of products, with the added ability of privileged account management.”
The latter comment is a reference to v-GO ® Shared Accounts Manager (v-GO SAM), the first solution that securely manages shared administrator passwords and other shared account IDs under the same infrastructure as conventional credential management. v-GO SAM requires users to request the use of a shared ID from a central repository, approves or denies the request based on pre-established policies, conceals shared passwords to prevent misuse, and ties shared account usage to the actual user to facilitate regulatory compliance.
“We found this tool to go beyond simple account and user management, and to go more in the direction of password management and privileged account management across the enterprise,” the SC Magazine review said.
The v-GO Access Accelerator Suite is designed to eliminate everyday challenges in sign-on, authentication and provisioning in order to improve business productivity, strengthen enterprise security and regulatory compliance readiness, and streamline identity management deployments.
v-GO’s core ESSO functionality enables corporate employees to access any type of Windows, mainframe or Web application with a single Windows log-on, eliminating the need for end users and administrators to manage multiple user-created application passwords. v-GO SAM simplifies and secures control of shared account IDs to protect organizations against inadvertent or malicious sharing of passwords as well as sabotage by rogue administrators.
Other solutions in the suite: automate user sign-on and sign-off of kiosk sessions; enable strong authentication to applications, desktops and networks without expensive custom integration; allow user IDs and passwords to be pre-loaded to the v-GO repository for easy provisioning; and automate the resetting of Windows log-on passwords.
v-GO offers rapid implementation, scalability to tens of thousands of users, hundreds of successful deployments, and low total cost of ownership made possible by the product architecture. The v-GO platform can be quickly implemented using patented client-side intelligence that eliminates the need to write scripts or connectors even to homegrown or legacy applications; requires no modification to business applications; and can be deployed on existing servers without adding dedicated or proprietary hardware.
